Natural gas has increased its strategic role as a source of energy for the world, mainly due to its lower environmental impact compared to other fossil sources. The use of natural gas in suitable equipment tends to be less polluting, for example, than burning diesel oil. The combustion of combustible gases properly processed and in correct equipment is practically free from pollutants such as sulfur oxides, solid particles and other toxic products, allowing the consumer to use the gas directly.

The burning of natural gas also has other advantages. For example, the gas enables combustion with high thermal efficiency, as well as simple flame control and regulation. Thus, reductions in energy consumption intensity can be achieved in industry, commerce or homes. In addition, by allowing the flame or combustion gases to come into direct contact with the products produced, the use of gas in various industries contributes to increasing the quality and competitiveness of these products.
